Donks getting nutzz with AK

Nothing makes me happier when i am sitting on the button preflop with AA or KK and some idiot from under the gun shoves his 30 BB with AK. This hand gets so many people in trouble, never just open shove with this hand if you are still 30-40 BB deep with big stacks to your left its just stupid often times if your shove gets called you are crushed....the only time i think this is a correct play is in a tourny when ur short stacked i mean come on i played in a cash game the other day and people were doing this all the time they would just open shove from under the gun or under the gun+1 its just stupid....i will say you should open with this hand but open 3-4 x BB and make your read on the villians from there do not just shove like a DONK!!!!

Sickest week ever

So this entire week has just been plain gross.  If i keep running like this im going to lose my entire roll.  So to start things off im at my casino like usual and i buy in for the max for 1/2 which at this casino is 100 and my second hand i have A 2 suited and the flop comes A22 beautiful right? Wrong i get beat on the river buy a royal flush and of coarse im all in. so i re buy, not an hour later i flop top two pair and an extremely loose player raises me all in after i bet the pot with ace high and it the turn is an ace and the river pairs the board to counter fit my two pair, just the sickest day ever, i go on that day to loose an additional 100 for a total loss of 300 for the day. Just plain sick. Today i lose 400 with the same sick lucky turn and rivers by bad players going in on me. if anyone can maybe help me out right now with any kind of tips I have never ran this bad and i need some encouragement so if you have anything please leave it in the comments

Top pair top kicker

one of my biggest mistakes as i was growing into a poker player was when i has a hand like AK and hit the flop of KQJ or something like that was that i would get blind folded and totally displace the fact that someone has anything that can beat me. But you must be cautions, the correct play is to bet this flop but if your getting raised and re raised then there is a good possibility your hand is beaten by something like QQ JJ A10 maybe even KK so just be cautious the sooner i quit getting tunnel vision on my top pair the sooner i became a winning player

Sometimes I Wonder

It makes my mind go crazy at times thinking how much different my life may be if i went the route of grinding out 2/5 and 5/10 for a living. I love the game of poker so much and after im through with my current career i may do just that. But when it came down to it i decided that i had a beautiful wife and future children that i had to take care of and couldnt rely soley on a game that could very well leave me broke after one bad year, for a living for us.  But it still makes me crazy because right now im pulling an extra 15-20k a year grinding out 1/2 (mostly) and some 2/5 (about once a week). what could have been eh??
Maybe one day I will upload a blog that is telling you all that i am following my dream and doimg very well but that is yet years off.  So anyway this is my third post today mostly because im bored at work, I would like you guys to ask me some questions about maybe some sort of leak in your game that you are not sure about, or just tell me how you would do something differently than what i would. I would appreciate some feedback from you guys. The more you guys comment and ask questions the more i post which in turn makes us all better poker players. After all thats what we are all here for isnt it?
Id also like to give you guys a little more information about myself i feel i may have left you in the dark about. Im 22 years old ive been playing poker for money since i was about 15 (started on full tilt but we all know how that went) I am from a small town in ohio, but me and my wife recently moved to the beautiful central coast here in california.  Many of my friends and i played home games growing up in ohio most everyone either quit playing or never cared to improve there game. Except for one guy who moved to Texas and he buses to a casino in OK on regular basis, we still keep in touch he likes to think he can beat me at the tables but id like to believe that he will be the one felted!!
Bring me those comments guys and give me a follow and ill swing by and follow you as well.Thanls for reading all hope you enjoyed!!!

playing the odds

So most every good poker player knows about pot odds, but for those of you who dont let me give you a quick rundown. The way i look at pot odds is that when you look at the math behind the game it is the correct way to play. lets say you are sitting at a live 1/2 no limit holdem game at your casino or where ever you play. you are holding Ah10h, and on the flop it is Qh 4s 9h, giving you the nut flush draw. Its a beautiful looking flop that may have you licking your chops, but slow your roll bro because if there is 25 bucks in the pot and your the guy across the table decides hes gonna toss in a bet of 15 bucks, is it really worth your call? well the correct answer is no. but lets just say you do call because ill admit just a few short years ago that is the way i would play. Ok so you call and on the turn its the 3h. BOOYAHH!!! nut flush baby. Thats the beautiful card that will get you in trouble for the rest of your flush draws. so now that youve made your flush how much money can you extract from your opponent. My guess is probably not much, our read had him on a pair of queens and he put that big bet out there to get rid of flush draws, but since we arent playing correctly we hit our flush.and that heart is a big scare card for him. so more than likely hes gonna shut down. At least i would if i put you on a flush draw.  But you maybe asking yourself "hey man i made the flush whats the big deal i won". well maybe you won, but you also lost in the long run. Winning poker players all play for the long run not for the one lucky night here and there.  The odds that your opponent gave you for the pot on that hand were roughly 2-1 because it cost you 15 to win 40 so i guess about 2.5-1 would be more correct, buy even so the odds that we are going to make our flush draw are only 5-1 so we are going to hit that flush once out of every 4 we play that same type of hand. Lets just say that after the flop the betting stops. so there is going to be a total win of 40 dollars everytime you win that draw. but your only going to hit that draw once out of every 4 times so thats a total investment of 60 dollars (15x4) and investing 60 to win 40 is not smart poker. And belive me i understand how hard it is to let those draws go but sometimes you have to if your not getting the right odds for your money. Just always keep in the back of your head we are here to win money in the long run and not just right now. As soon as i figured that out is when i got on the fast track to becoming a winning player!! thanks dudes and dudets
